Genesis HealthCare is seeking an experienced leader for its 116-bed behavioral health facility in Highland, near San Bernardino. Sierra Vista Behavioral Health Center, which is licensed as a Skilled Nursing Facility, has a state-approved Special Treatment Program to serve adults 18-65yo with chronic and persistent mental illness, including schizophrenia and psychotic, mood and personality disorders.
The Assistant Program Director position assists in the planning, development, coordination, and supervision of the Special Treatment Program (STP) and other therapeutic activity programs which meet the needs and interests of each resident in the facility.
Essential Position Duties
1. Assists in the organization and supervision of the provision of activity groups and special rehabilitative services of the Special Treatment Program, including assessment, certification, treatment planning, and direct treatment services.
2. Monitors the quality of written documentation in the medical record of resident involvement and progress in the special treatment program on a regular basis. Ensures documentation is accurate, informative and descriptive of the resident-s condition, the care provided and resident-s response to the care.
3. Monitors the order and safety of Special Treatment Program group rooms and offices.
4. Assists in the coordination of community contacts for Special Treatment Program to be brought into the facility (12 Step groups, etc.).
5. Supervises activities of volunteers to the Special Treatment Program Department.
6. Reviews Special Treatment Program hours weekly and monthly, and recommends individualized, activity treatment action for residents as necessary.
7. Reviews the appropriateness of resident referrals, including conducting on-site evaluations.
8. Assists the STP Director and Director of Staff Development in ensuring that orientation, annual education, in-service training, and continuing education for clinical staff members will meet regularly compliance as well as lead to program and staff growth.
9. Educates clinical staff on safe and appropriate use of facility Care and Safety procedures using the principles of least restrictive treatment.
10. Supports a positive and professional image through leadership activities that emulate the organization-s mission statement and encourages a spirit of cooperation and teamwork with co-workers.
11. Maintains an awareness of and support for facility marketing goals and efforts.
12. Maintains and implements department policies and procedures; ensures staff compliance.
13. Attends mandatory in-services and facility/department meetings as required.
14. Adheres to established HIPAA confidentiality standards of patient/resident and client location information.
15. Performs all duties and tasks as assigned.
DABP
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum of two years direct service experience treating the mentally ill, preferably severely mentally disordered patients, at least one year of which must include experience or training in program development.
2. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Recreation Therapy, Rehab Therapy (PT, OT, etc.) or other closely related Behavioral/Social Service field. Certification or licensure in a relevant field, per state regulation, may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Certification/Licensure
1. Valid California Driver's license

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
