Employee Communications Specialist

The Employee Communications Specialist for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians will play a key role in shaping a high-performance organization and engaged workforce. At the heart of shaping an engaged workforce is effective communication.
Reporting to the Learning and Communications Manager, the Employee Communications Specialist is responsible for designing and executing comprehensive, integrated communications plans that support Human Resources (HR) objectives including strategic initiatives to internal HR tactics ultimately supporting employee engagement and organizational performance. The Employee Communications Specialist role is dedicated to supporting employee focused communication initiatives as well as advising leadership on best practices in employee communications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Create consistent communications experiences that establish confidence, trust, and engagement with internal employees.
Engage and align our people to corporate strategy, business objectives and team functions.
Drive and deliver communications that enable our people to work more effectively and efficiently.
Counsel, support and partner with leaders to communicate with impact.
Advise key internal HR teams (Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Talent Development and Talent Infrastructure) on communication strategy.
Communicate key objectives of the Human Resources team to our employee stakeholders.
Create high quality, compelling organization-wide communications through a variety of channels (email, video, websites, social media).
Track effectiveness of communication campaigns and manage feedback channels; utilize the information to make recommendations to improve our strategies.
Edit and enhance internal communication materials, including intranet, newsletters, emails/memos, webcasts and presentations.
Review and edit essential internal communications prior to dissemination to ensure accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness.
Coordinate internal communication efforts with other departments (Marketing, Communications, Public Relations) who focus on external communications (i.e., marketing communications, public information).
Work closely with executive management team and departments to keep abreast of company developments and trends.
May assist with the development and implementation of new and existing communication vehicles.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Journalism, Communications, Business Administration or related field with a minimum of three years' experience in Marketing, Corporate Communications, Human Resources or Training; or Master's Degree with a minimum of one year of experience in the previously listed fields.
Knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of Human Resources management.
Experienced track record of developing effective employee communications vehicles utilizing multiple mediums (video, print, web, etc).
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Power Point.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class "A" Gaming License issued by the San Manuel Gaming Commission.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
