Data Cabling Tech I

The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is key to the success of the IT staff to meet the demands of this technically proficient and high demand department.
The Data Cabling Installer I, working under the guidance of IT Data Center Management, is to ensure all computer room, telecom and network closet environments and supporting systems are proactively supported to address business problems and requirements. In addition, with guidance from IT Data Center Management, install, repair, and maintain voice, data, and network communications systems with an emphasis on meeting project deadlines and scheduled project milestone dates for various systems implementations. The candidate will be proficient in using hand tools and hardware testing instruments. Work will include assisting with, but not limited to, install/uninstall of equipment racks, cable trays, J-hooks, fire sleeves, patch panels, wire managers, 110 blocks, 66 blocks, jacks, faceplates, and passive and active communications equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with installation of network racks and cabinets.
Assist with regular inspection and testing of voice and data runs at all locations.
Assist with identifying, labeling, and troubleshooting network issues related to cabling.
Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks or D-rings).
Assist with dressing and routing of cable into MDF/IDF closets, modular furniture and other work areas.
Provide accurate daily status reports.
Pull and Terminating copper jacks CAT6, CAT6A.
Assist with installation of support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks).
Perform weekly MDF/IDF visual inspections at all locations.
Receive and maintain Data Center material/equipment inventory.
Stock all Data Center locations with required materials weekly Ex: logs, patch cables, diagrams.
High School Diploma of GED
Minimum One (1) - Two (2) years data center services delivery experience, including hands-on experience in cabling and cable validation.
Experience working on 6 and 8 foot ladders with scissor lift experience a plus.
Cable installation experience is a plus.
Must be able to travel different site locations using personal/company vehicle.
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
