Senior Manager, Compliance and Quality Assurance (Food & Beverage)

The Quality Assurance function is a newly established position in the Food & Beverage Department and reports to the Executive Director of Food and Beverage. Its purpose is to perform reviews of programs, procedures, practices, and processes to primarily assess their quality, effectiveness, and adherence to compliance procedures. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the CQA coordinates all internal and external audit reviews and documentation preparation, written responses, and negotiations, and develops the annual Quality Assurance Review Plan after taking feedback from the Executive Director and other executive management into consideration. The CQA role is critical to managing risk and compliance procedures and will be expected to provide executives with their assessment of the risks associated with Food and Beverage programs, products, and services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversees and, as necessary, performs various quality control reviews and monitoring in the area of Food and Beverage and compliance using industry standard and regulatory guidance sampling methods to ensure compliance efforts are maintained.
Provides managerial oversight of QA section including the work performed by team members and related administrative tasks.
Champion of the Food and Beverage safety committee.
Prepares detailed responses of findings and remediations. These reports will be prepared in a professional manner consistent with industry practices.
Ensures the work performed by the staff meets regulatory requirements, industry standards, practices or expectations set by the Executive Director relative to evaluating program quality and effectiveness as well as identifying areas for improvement and forecasting future program needs.
Assists with the execution of:
organization-wide policies and procedures; compliance training
compliance testing/self-assessments;
guidance and direction to team members performing QA reviews.
Tracks and implements compliance for all relevant laws and regulations applicable to Food and Beverage. Performs review and evaluation work of programs in complex or sensitive cases, as needed.
Implements policies, procedures and processes that fully enhance and align with existing or new California code.
Monitors changes in law or regulations that require updates to policies and procedures. Plans, measures and analyzes data, monitors trends and evaluates process and service quality and service quality gaps.
Works with the Executive Director to communicate changes, update policies and procedures and enhance systems as necessary. Leads quality process development and improvement initiatives with the respective departments.
Conducts research of individual regulatory-related matters (i.e., practices, proposals, etc.), identifies and communicates regulatory compliance, deficiencies or potential problems. Performs and/or directs internal operational process audit and/or assessment activities for the business departments supported by the QA Team.
Assists in transactions involving compliance issues related to the Food and Beverage department, as well as the investigation and evaluation of special situations.
Leads and, as necessary, conducts annual review of policies and procedures and the operation to determine the impact and effectiveness of internal controls, provides recommendations for enhancements, and/or evaluates proposed program changes.
Maintains high confidentiality of all information pertaining to the Gaming enterprise.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
Bachelors Degree required, preferably in a related field.
Minimum seven (7) years of Supervisory and/or senior level auditor experience in the areas of audit, quality control or risk management.
Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant, and direct experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
Experience in the areas of quality assurance, internal controls, program effectiveness, program improvement and/or regulatory matters relating todepartment policies and procedures.
Must possess current and demonstrated knowledge of procedural reporting required.
Must have excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and managerial experience in leading teams on audits or projects. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Sharepoint, and relevant audit software required.
Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking and work under pressure.
Experience performing consulting/auditing work in the casino industry, and/or working for a casino regulator preferred.
Project management experience preferred.
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Food Safety Auditor Certificate required.
Must possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record as determined by the company's insurance carrier

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
