Poker Dealer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Greets customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
Maintains a dealer bank to adequately make change, sell chips and efficiently run the game.
Inspects the playing cards to ensure compliance with gaming standards.
Makes the appropriate house collection and jackpot drop.
Shuffles and deals the cards.
Handles chips with accuracy and speed.
Ensures that wagers are placed in a proper manner.
Calls and controls the action of the game as it progresses.
Announces the outcome of the hand.
Pushes the pot to the winner.
Calls for service, chips, setups, or rulings as needed.
Informs the floor supervisors of any open seats.
Assists in seating and table changes.
Notifies supervisors of any irregularities or disputes.
Explains and interprets the rules of the games to patrons.
Passes on game related information to the incoming dealer.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Certification from poker dealing school preferred.
Minimum one (1) year live-game casino dealing experience preferred.
Ability to concentrate for long periods without distraction.
Must be reliable, punctual and cooperative with co-workers and supervisors.
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Primary work environment is in a climate- controlled gaming facility. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high demand environment.
Work requires intermittent sitting, standing and/or stooping as well as bending, crouching or stooping.
Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
This position requires a high level of dexterity and repetitive motion; repeatedly shuffles, deals, places and picks up cards.
Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, and over the telephone.
Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities, guests and employees. Use close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
Strength sufficient to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds below or at waist level and occasionally lift, move or carry objects over 25 pounds below and at waist level.
The employee will experience high noise levels.
The employee will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
