Food Server, Pines Steakhouse

As a Pines Steakhouse Server, you will be asked to provide impeccable service as well as superior food, wine and beverages in the Pines Restaurant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Determine what the soups and specials of the day are, and what items are unavailable. Have necessary stationary ready (pen or pencil, note pad, menu, swipe card.) Must speak to guests in a cordial manner with a smile at all times. Listen to the guest and anticipate their needs.
The server must know all menu items and substitutions, and how the food and beverages are prepared and garnished.
Servers must go to all tables in their section, offer cocktail or beverage service, and offer a menu if one has not already been presented to each guest. The servers inform the guests of the specials of the day, the soup of the day, and make a personal suggestion of one other entr?e, appetizer and dessert, and answers questions regarding food preparation and wine selection.
After taking the food and beverage orders, the server will enter all food and beverage items into the Point of Sale (POS) system. It is required that the server properly learn the fundamentals of the POS systems.
Appetizers, soups and salads will be delivered before the main entr?e is served, if applicable, and the entr?e should be timed to come up after the guests are finished with their first course.
All beverage and food items are to be delivered to the guests on a tray. Tray jacks will be used for large food tray delivery, and returned to the jack stand immediately after use.
The server is required to assist with special projects as directed by the supervisor including, monthly meetings, special banquets, concerts, and special guests.
It is the server's responsibility to maintain the cleanliness, organization and preparedness of the immediate work-space and adjacent areas.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have good organizational and communication skills with the ability to work well with others. Must have clean and proper work attire in accordance with company policy. Must be reliable, pleasant and possess a good attitude. Be able to provide good service in sometimes difficult situations and able to cope with potentially stressful situations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required.
A minimum of 6 months experience in a fine dining restaurant is mandatory.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Food Handler Card.
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
