Senior Business-Data Analyst

Under the direction of the Executive Program Manager, the Senior Business-Data Analyst is responsible for executing and accelerating the overall business strategy within the Tribal government organization. This position accomplishes this critical purpose by focusing on and supporting the efforts of numerous departmental functions across multiple disciplines to meet organizational objectives and catalyze breakthrough change.
The Senior Business-Data Analyst provides end-to-end Business and data analysis support over cross-functional sectors. The Senior Business-Data Analyst will work with functional project owners to ensure early to on-time delivery of numerous projects in parallel and throughout all of their phases. Additionally, this position will leverage a compliment of knowledge, skill and experience in cutting edge business practices, data modeling, and executive presentations to ensure successful outcomes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or re-engineering.
Effectively supports multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously without adversely affecting deadline commitments.
Ability to analyze and synthesize business requirements, including recognizing patterns, conceptualizing processes.
Ability to query and write to data business systems, utilizing data analytics software.
Work with the business owners to develop key metric dashboards (KPI).
Develops, tracks, and delivers presentations, project status reporting, proposals, requirements documents.
Effectively manages and communicates project expectations with team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Collaborates with and lends project management support and expertise to functional project managers, and tribal stakeholders to ensure that defined project scope, goals and deliverables align with and support organizational goals and objectives.
Effectively, in concert with project team members, assembles, manages and tracks risks, including mitigation planning; communicates status and escalates concerns via status reports and communication to appropriate stakeholders.
Supports development and implementation of an Enterprise Program Management Office (PMO).
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Statistics or related field, required.
Five (5) years of experience in the field of Business/Data Analysis required.
Business or Data analyst in the Professional Services, Management Consulting, Client Services or Client Relationship Management is preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and related and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
Understands and appreciates the importance of unique cultural values and how they impact and drive business imperatives and organizational sustainability.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in requirements gathering and development.
Demonstrated fluency in business processes and process differentiation
Strong knowledge of data analysis and modeling including working knowledge of Tableau and SQL
Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
Knowledge of the full project development lifecycle and project development methodologies.
Strong technical verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify terminology that a non-functional end user and/or senior executive can understand.
Ability to create a positive and professional business relationship with internal and external clients as well as third-party service/product providers.
Broad knowledge of varied organizational disciplines preferred.
Open, flexible, ability to maneuver in gray space, willingness to research, and learn.
Experience working with MS Project and/or comparable project management tools.
Employee must have experience demonstrating the utmost discretion and confidentiality as they will have access to confidential information.
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
