Senior Financial Analyst

Reporting to the Business Analytics Manager and working closely with the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will provide strategic analysis and business insight for the Tribal Government organization. Aiding in the facilitation of the overall business strategy for the organization, this position will utilize financial knowledge, technical proficiency, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of judgment to deliver thorough analysis of existing operations, as well as provide recommendations for potential business acquisitions.
This position is an ideal opportunity for a detailed, intellectually curious, and analytically minded candidate who can deal with a degree of ambiguity. The ideal candidate should be comfortable taking large amounts of data, building complex financial models, developing sophisticated presentations for Executive Management, and communicating with all levels of the organization. This position is located in Highland, CA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform complex financial and operational analysis to support short term and long range strategic plans and operating budgets.
Financial modeling and business valuation, along with advanced knowledge of financial concepts (IRR, ROI, NPV, payback period, etc.).
Work with finance and business users to determine the metrics, reports, and analyses needed to manage and act on the business.
Provides strategic advice and financial analysis for investment decisions.
Effectively supports multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously without adversely affecting deadline commitments.
Leads the interpretation, evaluation, and interrelationship of research data, and generates integrated business analysis and projections for incorporation into decision-making.
Gather, transform, and analyze data from disparate sources, including confidential internal and external, into coherent and organized information suitable for consumption by Senior leaders and decision-makers.
Apply various mathematical, statistical, and financial analyses to reach conclusions, make recommendations, and/or develop strategies that would benefit the organization.
Develop models to generate forecasts and scenarios to aid decision-makers for both current operations and future acquisitions.
Assume a leadership role in the Finance department, including mentoring and training more junior team members.
Be a self-starter and identify areas for improvement and opportunities to make the department and organization more efficient.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field required.
Master's Degree in one of the above fields is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a financial planning, analytics, accounting, or similar role required.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Demonstrated experience working with relational databases and enterprise reporting tools required.
Familiarity with statistical and/or visualization tools (Tableau, Spotfire, SAS, R, Python, SPSS, etc.).
Experience performing management analysis.
Employee must have experience demonstrating the utmost discretion and confidentiality as they will have access to confidential information.
Previous investment banking and/or management consulting is preferred.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
