Lead Cashier, Cage Operations

The Lead Cashier, in collaboration with the Cage Operations Supervisor, complies with federal and state tax laws, as they pertain to tax withholding and information reporting on Forms W-2G, 1099MISC (W-9) and 1042S for patron wins and prizes paid. The Lead Cashier is responsible for functional supervision of Line Cashier's and Cage Operations Support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Carries out and leads the Line Cashiers and Cage Operations Support by planning, assigning and directing work flow.
Assists with the implementation and enforcement of all policies and procedures; notifies employees of revisions to policies and procedures.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements in all areas at all times. Adheres to all audit and legal regulations/laws and practices.
Ensures the San Manuel Entertainment Authority is in compliance with the BSA and the Patriot Act as it pertains to Indian Casinos.
Maintains current knowledge of the Internal Revenue Service and the State of California laws and regulations as they pertain to tax withholding and information reporting on patron wins and prizes paid to casino patrons on Forms W-2G, 1099MISC and 1042S.
Ensures established procedures and processes are utilized at all times to ensure maximum understanding and coordination is in place.
Assists with window counts; notifies shift Supervisor in the event of a variance.
Assists in completing a discrepancy report and forwards to appropriate personnel.
Contacts Surveillance Department and verifies any variance related issues.
Participates in verifying all cash drawers for weekly and month end inventory.
Completes daily, random and special audits of cashier banks.
Verifies various types of payouts.
Identifies, prioritizes and resolves problems occurring during assigned shift and communicates important information to Cage Operations management on a timely basis.
Participates in new team member orientation for Cage Operations Line Cashiers and Support; promotes excellent guest service as well as departmental and inter-departmental relations.
Other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Lead Cashier is responsible for the functional supervision of the Line Cashier and the Cage Operations Support in their day-to-day operations.
Makes recommendations to Supervisor regarding Line Cashier and Cage Operations Support Staff regarding performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and problem solving.
High school diploma or GED required.
Two (2) years of college level courses in accounting, business or equivalent preferred.
Two (2) years' experience in high volume Cage Operations or equivalent required.
Required to possess comprehensive knowledge of all Policy and Procedures governed by the Gaming Commission Regulations.
Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Must obtain and maintain a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record as determined by the Company's insurance carrier.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
